Silence is acceptance.

Hello, Friend.

My name is Dianne E. Butts and I'm tired of watching what's going on in our nation while not having a way to voice my views.  Every day I hear news people say what Americans think, but they are not saying what I think!  I hear politicians tell me what Americans want, but it's not what I want!  I watch Hollywood entertainers and actors in TV shows come into my own living room and make fun of me, my conservative views and my Christian faith, and I'm tired of watching it while not having a way to voice what I really think.

When politicians and entertainment influencers and even religious leaders say and do things and hear little or no response, they must believe they are speaking for us.  Silence is often understood as acceptance.

But I am tired of hearing others supposedly speak for me while I have no way to voice my opinion or my dissent.  My silence is being viewed as my acceptance of what others are doing.  But they do not represent my views!

     What about you?

Are you concerned about what you see happening in our nation?

Are you troubled by politicians who don't represent your views?

Are you disturbed by what Hollywood pumps into your home?

Are you concerned about attacks on your Christian faith?

Do you wish you could do something about it?  You're not alone.  And you've come to the right place.

I've made a promise to myself.  I'm going to learn ways to voice my views to people of influence.

Now, if you're like me, we're not the type to go to the state capitol with picket signs to protest.  Organizing a march isn't out style.  Gaining attention by making a lot of noise, getting ourselves on the evening news just isn't in our personalities.  That's why we appear to be silent.

We may not actually be silent.  We may discuss issues with our friends, our family, people in our sphere of influence.  But we don't make a lot of noise--noise that would be picked up by anyone who would carry our message to people in power.  So what do we do?

     What can we do?

How do we make ourselves be heard?

I've got some ideas about that.  And I'm going to delve into them.  And I'm going to let you know what I'm doing and how I'm doing it in the hope you'll join me.

     Through this site...

...my new blog I just launched http://ButtsAboutIt.blogspot.com,

...and my new, free electronic magazine (e-zine) I hope to launch soon which can be delivered directly to your e-mail box once a month,

I'm planning to equip myself...and you...to speak out on the issues that affect us all.

Meanwhile, here on my site, on the blog, and in the e-zine, I'll be writing about...

     ...politics...

     ...and entertainment...

     ...and religion.

I'll supply information and inspiration.  I'll let you know what I'm doing to speak out on the issues that are important to me.  And I'll hope you'll join me and voice your views, too.  If enough voices speak out together, we will be heard.  Together, we can make a difference.  No buts about it.

Find your voice.  Speak out.  Right from your own home.

You can make a difference.  No buts about it.

A conservative voice equipping conservative voices.

Can't say I agree with everything Bill O'Reilly says or writes. And when he starts talking about the Bible, well, you can tell he doesn't know a lot about it.  (The Apostle Paul was a lot of things, including a Roman citizen, but he was never ever a Roman soldier.) But anyway, overlooking some of those types of things, I enjoyed reading this book and would recommend it.  BAI

 Godless: The Church of Liberalism

In an episode of Crossing Jordon last season, one character referred to "ACS": Ann Coulter Syndrome.  "Hate everyone," he explained.  If you're not familiar with Ann Coulter's brand of sarcastic humor, you might think this book is pretty mean. But if you can hear her voice in your head delivering the humor, it works. You know she's joking--not mean--because you've got a brain. I was fascinated by the history she detailed of many of the issues of the day.  If you can get the humor, I'd recommend it.  BAI

In this book, each chapter is an essay from a different author. Essay talk about how people in Hollywood view Christians, the history of Hollywood, why there is such a large Jewish influence in Hollywood, and more. I found Behind the Screen very interesting, and I highly recommend it to anyone interested in the topic.
